The “good news gospel” has elevated us to a powerful position, one where the circumstances of life no longer have the authority to dictate how life is going, because Life Himself resides inside of us!
I can’t tell you how often people have said to me over the past decade, “I don’t know how you do it!” “How do you remain so joyful in all this?”
The only answer I can truthfully give is, “Jesus!”
Because of Jesus, we get to wake up each morning and live our day in him, through him, and for Him. We can be motivated by compassion, driven by love, unhindered by the circumstances of life, and fulfilled in every way. We can also manifest his nature, reflect his glory, and live totally content, joyful and secure, with a clear focus and a pure heart!
It might sound too good to be true, but that’s the thing about our God! His ways are higher, more magnificent, and far superior to anything we could ever conjure!
The deception that, “life is all about us,” is a bottomless pit of chasing empty promises and self-fulfillment. It always falls short and leaves us wanting more. We become forever reliant on circumstances to confirm that life is “going ok.”
But the glorious truth of the good news of great joy is that just ONE drink of him leaves us fully satisfied and complete–so full that nothing taken away or given in this life has any effect on our joy level.
I’m not saying that hardship isn’t hard, grief isn’t painful, loss isn’t felt, or sickness is ok. However, when we wake up each day to live for his glory with his spirit residing within us, we become empowered by him. Whatever comes our way is experienced from the stance of eternal life and seen from the perspective of heaven! We get to carry Him into it all!!
James wrote “Consider it ALL joy when you face trials of many kinds.” If we are living for ourselves, this phrase might seem impossible. But it is totally possible and even effortless when we’re living for Jesus!
So examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? Let us rejoice! For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! 🙌💕
